SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS INCREASED
We are pleased to announce that Saint Andrew’s Society of the State of New York (SAS) is raising the amount of its scholarship grants from $30,000 USD to $35,000 USD and is adding a third scholarship to support graduate study in Scotland.
The SAS Scholarship Committee and Board of Managers approved the increase of the amount of each scholarship and added one additional scholarship. The increase may not close that gap for those coming here to study or for those who study abroad in Scotland, but will make a substantial contribution to that end.
The Society has been providing scholarship grants to graduates of US universities and colleges for over fifty years and has provided over 200 scholarships not only to US graduates, but also to Scottish students doing graduate work in the United States. All of the candidates demonstrate excellence, commitment, and obvious academic achievement. Many of the SAS scholars have gone on to make significant contributions to their fields of study or to society at large. The SAS Scholarship Committee is hopeful that these increases will encourage many more students to file applications in the coming year.
