The Almoner Program has been granted a yearly stipend to supplement its current program budget and to allocate emergency disbursements. The Almoner's Committee designated the Barker Emergency Fund to award the grants to extreme cases of need on a case by case basis.
The Barker Fund was formed in 2014 through the generous posthumous contribution of one of our members, Mr. Charles S.P. Barker. His bequest to the Saint Andrew's Society benefits communities or populations in need, especially the elderly and those of Scottish descent.
If you know of an elderly person in crisis or an individual with urgent special needs, please contact the office of the Society addressing your inquiry to the Almoner of the Society, Josephine Campbell Dobkin.
